Got a call in the middle of the night Sat. they had rushed Mike to the hospital. He was confused and tremoring. His hemoglobin was down to 5.1-- the lowest it has ever been. He is in ICU and trying to recover. After 4 units of blood, he is up to 10.2 (or something) but still confused when he talks. I am not sure what they are going to do. It is not very easy to think about what might be.
I am just praying that all is well.

Friday
Today is Friday, Yes it's Friday, Yes, indeed!! That is a line from one of PK songs... I just can't get out of my head. I am so needing the weekend to arrive. We had quite an eventful evening/week for the matter. Evy needed a bath. When it is cold outside, I tend to bath her less because her skin gets so dry. We were busy in the evenings... and I couldn't remember when we did it- Sun or Mon... so she was in desperate need. So we did baths and then dinner, so her hair could dry before bed. I also had "meet the teacher" night at the school. The new teacher and I were there from 4:30 to 6 so the parents could meet her. Out of 25 kids, we had 3 show up! It was a bummer, but gave us time to plan and chat with our principal. My sisters will be here tonight... and I still have a little cleaning to do afterschool (mopping and vacumn and one bathroom) and some errands to run. Also my first offical intake IEP to attend today, so I can learn the process. I guess I did ovulate this month... early again between day 10 and 11. If I get pg the date would be 11/11-- but if not... we get to try again while we are in Vegas. Which will be fun! Can't wait.

Catch a break...
A couple months ago these bad things started happening. Nov. I had a miscarriage, then in Dec. a dislocated rib and then I slipped on the ice and hurt my leg. Then some great things happened... moving classrooms and passing national boards-- our taxes looked good and we will be getting ready to go to Vegas in about a month. But, Friday, my leg started hurting in the spot where I hit it on the car and then pain started radiating around the calf-- feels like a charlie horse all the time. I called the on call doctor-- who seemed concerned. So I went to the ER and got an X-ray and blood test to check for a stress fraction and a blood clot-- everything is negative--nothing is wrong with me...except my leg still hurts. So now I am left to wonder when will I catch a break?

First real cycle....
So today the dreaded beginning of new cycle started. I was prepared for it, but it still is a little sad every month when you are hoping above all hoping that it doesn't show. But, good news it is normal... really normal, not the fake normal, I was pretending was real so that we could try to have another baby.
Spent yesterday unpacking in my new classroom and hanging new bullentin boards. Also grading moutains of papers. Today, I need to go put my classroom into rows, finish grading papers, and laminate! It is like doing two jobs at once. Preparing for the new, while continuing to do a good job teaching the current job. Really, I have kind of mentally "checked out" of fourth grade. But, I am still making sure that I do everything I am suppose to because those kids deserve it! They keep bringing me presents. One sweet girl, brought me coffee mugs and hot chocolate because I drink it every morning at school. I really don't deserve presents...
Everyone at my house seems well again! We have managed to get Evy back to normal. Michael and I dodged the bullet with only a couple days of yuck feeling. Today is the first day in 26 days that Michael has not worked at least 8 hours and sometimes 20. What a nice treat to be home. My goal today is to get my room done at school and the house cleaned! That means the Christmas tree taken down!

Emotional Day
I had an emotional day yesterday. DD has been sick since Monday- throwing up and high fever (102.6) plus lathargic and not eating. So I took her to the dr. looks like it is virus bug that isn't the "real" flu- just a fake flu... but her throat was REALLY red and he did a strep test which came back neg. I was feeling bad too- but after a GREAT night's sleep it is a little better.
Mike called and said they were coming home. So in between school and the doctor, I had to meet a locksmith to pick the door so we could get in. He needed some more blood, and so they left the hospital about 10 last night. He was SO happy to be coming home. They got their discharge papers at noon, but didn't bring his blood until after 7 last night. He said he was leaving even if it was 2am. Everything looks good- he doesn't have to have oxygen and will have to have his hemoglobin levels checked every couple days to see if he needs more blood. Michael is definately glad. He has his song back and spend a few hours crying... just what he needed to do was release all his emotions. I know that Mike isn't out of the woods and since he has needed three more units of blood, I am not sure that he is REALLY fixed, but at least he is coming home to relax for a few days/weeks before going to Dallas.
Also... I told my kids about moving classrooms. Sure didn't get the reaction that I wanted. It started with a "NOOOOOOOOO" in unison. And then about 10 of them started weeping like someone had died. I was going to wait until Friday, but they had been asking questions. So I decided yesterday was good. We didn't do science, they just cried. It was awful, I felt horrible. But, I have to do what is right for me, and I KNOW that the stress from 28 kids contributed to the miscarriage. Plus, I am MORE tired and busy in that job then when I teach special education. AND...in my new job I will have less kids and 2 aides-- why would I pass it up? I would be stupid not too!

what should have been...
So this week, I should have been about 21 weeks pregnant. I don't know that it seems possible, boy I wish it were half over instead of the trying to concieve stage. Both the girls at school are having boys... so odds are that ours was a girl. We will never know, but it is kind of nice to dream about it and think we picked the right name. Just spent hours cutting velcro to put on the new calander and weather frog for the new classroom. Evy is sick. Her first day of gymnastics she threw up in the car on the way to babysitter. UGH! Michael took her to his office and then mom took off the afternoon and today. She still is running a temp, so she will be back at the office tomorrow. I guess if she is still sick on Thur. or Fri. I might take off... hopefully there will be subs in the building. So our stress level is returning to a normal level. After several grueling weeks of worrying about FIL and others all seems to be getting better- except we are still locked out of their house. Also my niece had tubes put in her ears on Monday-- no big deal for most people, but just another notch in our already full belt of sick people- FIL, MIL, Cori, Jess's emergency. The Lord is definately giving us grace and confidence to deal with all the situations and peace to deal with the outcome and stress. News on Mike: his lung biopsy is in process (they decided this on Friday) so they think that it is related to welding fumes of chemicals from his work. He is wearing oxygen and trying to walk more... but after 41 years working in a factory- I am sure they will never find the exact cause. I could be wrong... hopefully this is treatable as they said before and his lung function will return to normal.

Praise the Lord!
Mike's procedure went wonderful yesterday. The stint removed a great amount of pressure and he must be feeling better because he was choosing to eat- which hasn't really happened in a while. He eats because he has too. But, last night in his sleepiness from surgery was choosing to eat--falling asleep in between bites-- but choosing. He will still need some more blood- as his hemoglobin fell a little yesterday but everything is looking good. His muscles have atrophed over time and will need some physical therapy to get back to his old self again. I guess he is not totally out of the woods for liver failure- but we are praying and believing this was the fix he needed. This stint could last up to five years and be replaced if needed. But, his liver could begin the healing process. It snowed here, so we choose to stay home and will most likely travel down tonight to see him. They plan to release him to stay with my SIL today or by Sunday. He is ready to come home. He doesn't know it yet, but their house heater quit working. It is like 49 degrees in their house. So if that doesn't get fixed, they will come home to my house. YEAH! If it is not for long, it will be fun. He is on a restricted sodium diet, so I will get to do some creative cooking.
Morning routine is calling.... if I don't hurry up, I will be late!
